Dominique Duarte is a writer, singer, and actress. She is originally from Memphis, Tennessee and currently resides in Brooklyn. She has a BA degree in music performance and journalism from Murray State University. Then, she attended the American Musical Dramatic Academy in NYC in 2016.
Dominique has performed with Opera Memphis, Playhouse on the Square, Theatre Memphis, Hattiloo Theatre, Memphis Symphony Chorus and other regional venues. Her NYC performances included Raina in Riverbend, Narrator in Character Rewind, Ms. Sheree Davon in Being Too Much Into Yourself.
Her favorite roles were Nettie in The Color Purple (Playhouse on the Square), Little Inez/Dynamite in Hairspray (Murry’s Dinner Playhouse), Harlem Ensemble in Ragtime the Musical (Midtown Arts Center), and Crystal (Urchin) in Little Shop of Horrors (Playhouse in the Park). She recently toured with the Cornerstone Chorale & Brass for their 2023 tour.
